On February 26, 2020, the Credit Union National Association awarded Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union its Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility and Community Involvement. Named for a pioneer of the credit union movement, this award acknowledges the credit union that best displays activity that strengthens the structure of a community.
Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union was acknowledged for its Habitat for Humanity Giveback Program through which the credit union makes a donation every time a member opens a new Vertical or Platinum Rewards Checking account. Last year, ETFCU raised $138,000 for Habitat for Humanity of Evansville. This spring, Habitat will begin construction of a home fully funded by ETFCU for the third consecutive year.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING ETFCU SUPPORT HABITAT!
For every Vertical Checking or Platinum Rewards checking account opened, ETFCU will make a donation to Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity®
Since 1976, Habitat has helped 29 million people find strength, stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable shelter.
No matter who we are or where we come from, we all deserve to have a decent life. We deserve to feel strength and stability day after day. We deserve to know we have the power to take care of ourselves and build our own futures. At Habitat, this is what unites us. Through shelter, we empower. Our shared vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. People in your community and all over the world partner with Habitat to build or improve a place they can call home.
Habitat homeowners build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, those homeowners achieve the independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
Habitat affiliates build in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Each Habitat affiliate is an independent, locally managed organization which coordinates local construction and selects partner families without regard to race religion or ethnic group.
ETFCU ranked #1 among Indiana credit unions on Forbes’ annual list of Best-In-State Banks and Credit Unions.
