ETFCU is Helping Return a P-47 Thunderbolt to Evansville

Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union is helping bring home a hero. The credit union has joined Wayne and Beth Kinney as co-title sponsors of the P-47 Foundation’s successful efforts to return a Republic P-47 Thunderbolt to Evansville, where it was built in 1945! On Saturday, October 17, the plane made its last scheduled flight as it returned to Evansville. It is available for public viewing at the Evansville Wartime Museum.

Your chance to view Evansville’s P-47 begins Thursday, October 22! Due to social distancing regulations, the Evansville Wartime Museum features a timed-entry ticket system to allow visitors to view this special piece of Evansville’s history. Tickets can be purchased online at www.evansvillewartimemuseum.org or by phone at (812) 647-4218 Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT.

The P-47 Foundation has raised the funds necessary to bring the P-47 Thunderbolt back to Evansville, but it will take additional donations to keep it here beyond year-end. You can help our efforts to keep this hero home in Evansville by making a donation at the Evansville Wartime Museum or at any ETFCU location.

The P-47 Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in accordance with IRS Regulation Section 170.
